The Village Hall was extensively renovated in 2001/02 with a grant from the Lottery Community Fund and is now available for bookings. The hall offers excellent accommodation for small or large functions, with a capacity of 100 seats for performances and approximately 65 for a seated meal. A comfortable lounge area provides a relaxed environment for smaller, less formal groups. There is a removable stage, and a well equipped kitchen with fridges, a freezer and a large oven, as well as crockery and cutlery for 100. In the grounds of the Village Hall there is a Children's Play Area with a range of interesting and imaginative equipment, making hiring the hall for children's functions particularly attractive. The Play Area was funded from a number of charitable sources. Village Hall Committee meets as required through the year, with an AGM and elections held every May. This year's AGM will be held at 8pm on 15th May. The current composition of the Village Hall Committee is:
Other Committee Members: Rowland Driscoll, John Jackson, Jean Taylor, Mary Thomson To book the hall, contact Kathleen Daniels at 01573 460216 or email bookings@smailholm-village.org.uk Back to: Facilities |
